The lamp's functionality is inspired by the iris, replacing the conventional on/off switch with a twist to illuminate mechanism. By simply twisting the lamp head, users can control the intensity and direction of the light, creating a personalized lighting experience.

One of the key features of irilla is its minimalistic design. The sleek, modern body is made of anodized aluminum with a clear matte finish, giving it a rough metal feel. The arm of the lamp relies on precise metal tubing, adding to its overall aesthetic appeal. The aperture, which resembles a camera iris, is made of black-coated steel sheet, providing a raw and futuristic look.

The lamp incorporates a microcontroller core with seven surface mount device LEDs and an infrared proximity sensor embedded on the printed circuit board. With a lamp shade diameter of 90mm and a lamp base diameter of 150mm, irilla is compact yet powerful.
